A BANK executive says more people are withdrawing, rather than depositing money during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Women’s Micro Bank chief executive Gunanidhi Das said the bank was now redeveloping its savings culture programmes to counter that.
“We see plenty of customers coming into our chambers,” Das said.
Previously the transaction was more into deposits.
“But now we see the transactions was more into withdrawals.
“We always ask our customers to please go and deposit money, you make deposit as your habit, to make savings as a habit, so that in such crisis, you can come back and withdrew,” he said.
“We are reviving the savings culture in our programmes like before coronavirus and after coronavirus.”
Das said this pandemic had made people realise the concept of withdrawing money during an emergency.
“Everybody has their own ambition to fulfil and we all work hard to fulfil our ambition,” Das said.
He said the savings culture should be revived.
