GAZELLE MP Jelta Wong has acknowledged a primary school in his electorate for playing an instrumental role in producing elites over the past decades.
Attending the 50-year Golden Jubilee celebrations of Vunadavai Primary School in Livuan Reimber local level government (LLG) in East New Britain on Tuesday, Wong expressed appreciation of the achievement.
The school, since it started in 1971, produced leaders and elites in Gazelle.
Wong said the golden jubilee was a good time to reflect on the contributions of key people that played an instrumental role in building and improving spiritual, educational, cultural and economic well-being of the people of Vunadavai and surrounding wards in Livuan Reimber LLG and Gazelle.
“I acknowledge the role the school has played in the training of students and its contributions to the development of PNG before Independence and ever since,” he said.
Wong pledged funding support to the school as a token of his government’s appreciation for the work the school has accomplished over
the years and to support the school’s infrastructure maintenance project.
“Human resource development is a key agenda for my administration.”
