MP backs students

OKAPA students in tertiary institutions will benefit from a K300,000 school fee subsidy given by Okapa MP Isaac Waigavara.
Waigavara last week gave K31,775 to the principal of the Goroka Technical College to subsidise fees for Okapa students there.
He said he wanted to sponsor school leavers in the district become qualified people in Okapa.
“My aim is to educate all Okapians. I have made a commitment to subsidise school fees for all Okapa students in higher learning institutions,” he said.
He clarified that the K300,000 was for Okapa students attending these institutions and who had written to his office for sponsorship.
Waigavara urged Okapa students needing school fee assistance next year to apply early.
