NORTH Fly MP Boka Kondra has purchased seven vehicles from Ela Motors purposely for strategic sectors in his electorate from his joint districts planning and budget priorities committee funds totalling K980,148.52.
The handover of the cheque took place last Friday at Ela Motors in Badili, National Capital District, under the transport sector programme from JDPBPC from his electorate.
“Sectors within my electorate like health and police all need to have their basic logistics improved and I recognised that need to be in terms of vehicles.
“It is always a struggle for my administration, the government agencies and other sectors in my electorate to do their jobs, as you all know the terrains and the rugged landscape in North Fly are not too favourable.
“Therefore my JDPBPC agreed to purchase the vehicles to use in the electorate,” Kondra said.
He was pleased with the efforts of the district administrator Ronald Manise Dmonai and the administration and commended them for their efforts in making this programme.
“I appeal to my people of North Fly to take ownership and be responsible in using these assets in the right manner and purpose. I have basically seen that need to improve logistics to have efficient inflow of goods and services.
He said seven Landcruisers were purchased of which there were two five-door wagons for the office of the member, two 10 seaters for Ningerum police and district health services, and two open back Landcruisers for Ningerum LLG and Kiunga rural LLG.
The last vehicle Toyota Hilux was for Kiunga district hospital.
Two 40-horse power outboard motors were also purchased along with two 23- foot dinghies for the electorate.
