MORESBY Northwest parliamentarian Michael Malabag strongly believes that youths should be developed for the future if the government cannot build a future for them.
Malabag said this while officiating at the launch of the Malabag Youth’s Skills Development and Employment Creation (MYSDEC) initiative at the June Valley Fox oval in Port Moresby yesterday.
He said the initiative had been collectively implemented by Fisher Training and Recruitment Academy (FTRA), Seventh-Day Adventist church and June Valley community leaders.
It was something new that should serve as a model for other districts.
“We are on another level,” Malabag said.
He said June Valley was included in his plans for change in the North-West suburbs and the initiative was among other small developments to come.
“We will be moving together with the churches,” he said.
While commending the SDA and other churches for their contribution towards empowering young people, he said the project would enhance  their spiritual upbringing.
