MP doing wonders

Letters

AT a glance over the shoulder, one could feel tremors of anxiety and pain from our recent past that silenced Imbonggu.
Walum, the lone district office funded by a former MP late Peter lpu Peipul in 1997, stands isolated and defunct as successive political heads come and go.
Hope was fading when Pila Niningi, the dejected son of Imbonggu, slowly but surely emerged among the ruins in the 2017 elections and there was light at the end of the tunnel.
What really could be gained in two and half years or in a single Parliamentary term for that matter?
Nevertheless, Imbonggu is in awe thus far of these achievements – police station; community development centre; law and justice office complex; Imbonggu modern rural hospital in progress; renovation and extension of subhealth centres; rural electrification; delivery of ambulances; building of Bailey bridge; Imbonggu court house; building subsidiary routes to reach Imbonggu’s backwaters and beyond; and, the inauguration of Imbonggu cultural show and the list goes on.
Ambitions of Imbonggu are further realised by the current district administration.
Being oblivious of insults, it has turned criticisms into workable tools and is by far, the most performing district administration in our history.
However, it’s prone and shortcomings are inevitable.
Therefore, critics on social media platforms should offer better alternatives than mere sweet talks.
This article intends to remind Imbonggu that the dawn of our new era has just begun.
Gone are days of cronies queuing to empty the peoples’ purse at some makeshift office other than Walum.
Let us shelve propagandas and embrace opportunities when time is on our side.
