KAIRUKU-HIRI MP and Minister for Higher Education Paru Aihi donated K20,000 to Sogeri Primary School in Central last Friday.
Aihi, who was attending parliament sitting, was not there in person.
His first secretary Paul Aisa attended in his ‘absence’.
Aisa said the money had been drawn from the Kairuku-Hiri MP’s district services improvement programme for education.
“Aihi has a heart for lower education schools and that is evident in his donations to primary and elementary schools in his electorate.”
The school’s headmaster Lagona Wari said the funding would be used for maintenance on two double classrooms, tool store room, text books, teachers’ houses renovation and school shower rooms, among others.
