MP: Financial management in schools key

PROPER financial management in schools can attract partnerships and more funding support, Deputy Prime Minister John Rosso says.
Rosso, also the Planning and Monitoring Minister, said while money was the answer (to many problems), management of funds was key to addressing issues.
“Every school needs unity, strong administrative management and financial management skills,” he added. He said it was unfortunate that many schools had up to 70 children crammed in non-conducive classrooms.
“The students deserve better environments. Teachers are living in deplorable conditions,” he added.
Rosso said the Lae City Authority over the past five years started major interventions in Lae and Busu secondary schools because they had good managements.
He committed K2 million to the school.
