LOCAL MP Camillus Dagima is visiting communities in his Kerowagi electorate, Chimbu, to get views on how he should spend the district service improvement programme (DSIP) funds.
He is travelling on foot to most of the areas to get first-hand information on their needs and how best he can help them.
Dagima visited Kunabau village last week, accompanied by district administrator James Guma.
He told the people that he would get all their views before he convenes the Joint District Planning and Budget Priority Committee to discuss the implementation of the DSIP funds.
During a gathering at Kenigle elementary school last Friday, the MP asked about their needs and what he could provide for them in government services and projects.
He told the people that K2 million provided under the DSIP this year was still sitting in the district account.
He said that as soon as he received other funds, he would make work on a budget to implement projects and deliver services.
“I don’t want to use this K2 million now and leave the projects incomplete,” he said.
Dagima stressed that he wanted to improve the living standards of people in his electorate.
The various community leaders thanked their MP for visiting them and getting their views on their needs.
They added that Dagima’s visits would enable the rural people to have a say in how their money would be spent.
