MP gives K10,000 to teachers

Education

CHUAVE MP and Minister for Environment, Conservation and Climate Change Wera Mori has assisted newly-graduated teachers with incentives.
Among the recruited teachers, Mori requested for eight to be posted in Chuave’s Yauwe Moses Secondary and Kariweri High with an incentive of K10,000 each.
Mori said K5,000 would be deposited into each teacher’s personal accounts for the first term to sustain them and the balance (K5,000) deposited in the second term.
A total of 21 specialised teachers in mathematics and science were recruited from St Peter Channel College, East New Britain, and two from University of Goroka.
They were posted to teach in Yauwe Moses, Mt Wilhelm, Gumine, Kerowagi, Kundiawa Lutheran Day, Kondiu and Kariweri secondary and high schools respectively.
Mori said the province was without major economic standing except for human resources and it was crucial to assist teachers in terms of their logistics, beddings and accommodation.
“Chimbu is a small province with immense human potential in science and mathematics with set records in producing some quality professionals my support is to appreciate crucial roles teachers play,” he said. “Chimbu’s are very good people and teachers will enjoy the rugged gorges, mountains and rivers flowing while teaching here.”

  • Well done chief Mori! Some of us taught for one full year without pay before the guys down in waigani proccessed our pay. Can the other MPs fill in the missing link as well for kundiawa, ssy, mt whilem and kerowagi? And by the way, wera mori is the performing leader and his leadership stands out in simbu! Where are the other simbu MPs??

  • Thank you Honorable MP and Minister Wera Mori.
