MP Lagea should not be in parliament
The National, Tuesday July 22nd, 2014
THERE has been numerous letters to the media about the non-existence of basic government services to the people of Kagua-Erave since the local MP James Lagea was elected in June 2007.
With poor track records of service delivery and probably the worst MP of Kagua-Erave has ever produced, one wonders how Lagea was voted into parliament.
If the Kagua-Erave people do not make the correct choice, they will continue to miss out on government services and developments.
The perception of the Kagua-Erave development funds are used up every year by law and order or tribal fights as proclaimed by the MP, is hogwash and the people should not take it for granted.
If crime and tribal fights are hindering developments and service delivery, as an elected leader, Lagea is bound by duty to establish the root cause of those problems and come up with amicable solutions.
We have yet to witness the achievements for the five years for Kagua Erave.
What is the Kagua Erave development plan for 2012 to 2017?
In my area, the only sign of tangible development is upgrading of Wanere bridge at the cost of K100, 000 some months ago.
Compared to the millions of kina that has been allocated to the district coffer, that amount is a dip in the ocean.
Thanks to the Fr Marek Wolden of Karia who approached the people`s office for financial assistance for this project.
Under his guidance that project was successfully completed.
There is a vacuum of quality dynamic leadership that is very evident at the local, provincial and national levels.
