KARIMUI-Nomane MP Mogerema Wei has allocated K1.2 million to help more than 300 students in the district attending tertiary institutions.

The 333 students are attending colleges, universities, technical vocational education and training institutions, plus private education institutions.

Wei and the District Authority development committee allocated the money from the district services improvement programme for that.

District administrator Limbia Tiagoba said he would deliver the cheques to the institutions this week.

Tiagoba said after recognising the hardship parents in the remote district faced in regards to sending their children to school, Wei started the programme in 2013.

He said the list of 333 students was prepared by district education officer, Peter Kamasunga.

He urged the students benefiting from the subsidy scheme to inform their respective institutions.
