MP Pato has done more than his fare share in electorate
The National, Thursday July 24th, 2014
Let me get some points and or facts in order in relation to comments made by our Local Watch Dog in Wapenamanda (Monday 21 July 2014) so that he can see some light as he has been caved up somewhere in Agomanda or Kalepata or Pauale.
Never has before, the Member for Wapenamanda who is the Minister for Foreign Affairs & Immigration has initiated amongst the many prospecting projects, the following initiatives and for our Local Watch Dog’s information, Minister Pato has been in office for only two years. For how long have you been a Local Watch Dog is also interesting to know since you haven’t differentiated how much your former MPs have done for the district that Minister Pato has not done within a short period? I understand that all former Members of Parliament from Wapenamanda have been members for more than 15 years.
If you are only talking because you want to score points, then don’t waste time making comments. And for you as our Local Watch Dog, the following are some of the initiatives Minister Pato has taken so far during his two year term:
- Kumul Border Police Post ( under construction now)
- Renovation of Wapenamanda Town Police Station (under renovation now) after being closed for 15 years.
- Wapenamanda Town Ring Road Sealing ( near completion)
- Steel frame classrooms for Pausa, Foursquare & Tsak Sec Schools ( under construction)
- Construction of Yalis Health Centre ( under construction at Lower Lai)
- Construction of new e-Library at Pausa Sec School (near completion)
- All bridges for the district ( see bridges piled at District office)
- Construction and maintenance of all the Primary schools in the district
- Construction and maintenance of all the Health Centers and Aid post in the district.
- Tsak Mini Hydro funding of K30 million by NZAid
- Construction of Lauanda Foot Bridge by JICA, Kinim and Tapus pending
- Unda Pokari – Akom Wabag road to be a National Highway.
- And more importantly the Tsak and Lower Roads. They have been tendered and waiting NEC awarding of contract.
These are ones that are currently under construction in the district at the moment besides other initiatives the Minister. The Local Watch Dog should have gone to the Wapenamanda Facebook before making the comments he made.
Another improvement that Minister Pato introduced in the lives of the Wapenamanda people is the ‘Free Handout’ mentality which rotted into many people. I think our Local Watch Dog fits into this category and seeing that such is not done, our friend is bursting out into hot air.
If you are serious Watch Dog then do your research properly and exclusively before you bring shame onto yourself.
Finally, you sound competent, please forward your CV and you can assist in delivering many of the projects in the district. The District needs people like you.
