MP pays off classrooms

THE Good Shepherd Lutheran High School has received the final payment from Madang MP and Minister for Petroleum and Energy Nixon Duban to complete the school’s two double classrooms.
The final K200,000 was paid to contractor Jema Building and Construction last Thursday.
School deputy principal Nicholas Asuak said Duban had committed K300,000 to the school when he attended the opening of a two double-classroom in 2013.
Asuak said K100,000 was given mid-last year.
He said the final payment would enable the contractor to finish the work quicker.
Asuak said the payment was made available after Duban had commented about the slow process payments from MPs and local governments. He thanked Duban for his contribution.
“Many students attending Good Shepherd are from Ambenob LLG, Minister Duban made the commitment and fulfilled it,” Asuak said.
He said the school was looking forward to recruiting Grade 11 students next year.
