GOILALA students from the Port Moresby Institute of Matriculation Studies received K25,000 as part payment of their semester fees.

Goilala MP Daniel Mona yesterday presented the cheque for the amount to the students in the presence of their parents and teachers.

Mona said the payment was from the Louis Mona scholarship Scheme which was announced last year.

The scheme is named after his late father, who was a former MP and defence minister during post-independence.

“I named it after my father because during his term in parliament education was his priority and I want to build on from there.”

“It is a scholarship that I want to provide for the Goilala students in ensuring that they receive better education,” he said.
