MP plans to help flood victims

 BULOLO MP Sam Basil has promised assistance to those affected by the floods in Wau and Bulolo.

A mother and her four children died after they were swept away by floodwaters at night. 

He said residents of Messrs Booth saw a house washed away. 

He said the district will look into the plights of those affected when the reports of the damage was completed. 

The district administration will also help out with burial arrangements and assist those who lost their houses.

“The district has received reports of the flood and I have instructed the Wau rural manager and Wau/Bulolo urban manager and the president that if the bodies are retrieved should be taken to the Angau mortuary in Lae,” Basil said.

He said the flood was an unexpected disaster and the district will have to look for ways to help the people affected by the floods.
