THE once lawless Kandep district in Enga is experiencing peace due to strong partnership work and prayers with churches, local MP Alfred Manase says.
Manase said he would continue to support them.
He said churches in the district played a crucial role in providing important services such as health and education in the rural areas.
Manase said about K500,000 from his district services improvement programme funds was allocated to support the churches.
The district, he said, has 76 churches and in the last two years, he helped 23 of them and was now focusing on the remaining.
“I will focus on helping churches to deliver services and remove thatched roofs and replace them with roofing iron,” Manase said.
