MORESBY South MP Justin Tkatchenko says he is serious about protecting his constituents from the Coronavirus (Covid-19) through vaccination.
Tkatchenko said players, match officials, competition administrators and team officials were on the front lines and at risk from the Covid-19.
They are front line people going around mixing with other people, players and administrators.
“So it’s very important all our players and administration get vaccinated immediately to protect themselves, their families and their communities,” he said.
Tkatchenko said the most important thing for him was for all the players, management and administration to be vaccinated for their own safety and well-being.
“Vaccination helps protect you from the Covid-19 but if you are not vaccinated you will end up in the hospital or morgue or in the ground and six feet under,” he said.
“So the situation is vaccine is there to protect you and to assist you.
“I will be very happy when the 15 clubs ensure all agree for vaccination and that’s a blessing for themselves and families and those surrounding them, especially loved ones.
“Most important thing is common sense here, we cannot allow people to listen to rubbish and other information that is totally false. And we have to tell the truth here.
“The truth is vaccines protect you from this dreaded disease and you will not get seriously ill if you are vaccinated.” Moresby South Stadium venue manager Bagelo Solien added that a submission on stand operating procedures had been submitted to NCC for approval and for the leagues to adhere to it.
“It is not our decision for ‘No jab, No games’, it’s the controller’s and we all have to implement it,” he said.
