MORESBY North-East MP John Kaupa has pledged to give K10,000 to Bavaroko Primary School after opening a four-in–one classroom building on Friday.
“The future of this nation, the future of education and the future for anything we do for this country lies on manpower,” Kaupa said.
“To start off with manpower we need education.
“The government is talking about how we are going to produce quality education for everyone and the tuition fee free will continue with this government.”
Kaupa said his district’s five-year plan prioritised infrastructure development for schools.
The primary school through its board and administration built the classrooms worth more than K100,000.
The money was raised through fundraising activities by teachers, students and parents.
Each of the four classrooms will cater for 40 elementary students.
The school has 68 teachers, 50 for primary school and 18 for elementary school.
It plans to expand its capacity with higher enrolments expected.
Bavaroko head teacher Catherine Moresi acknowledged Kaupa’s help.
