KUNDIAWA-Gembogl MP William Gogl Onglo has been allocating funds to the agriculture sector to empower people.
Onglo has been providing farmers seedlings and technical support.
The City Pharmacy Group recently paid K15,000 to those farmers for onions.
“I want to thank the Fresh Produce Development Agency (FPDA) and (farmers) in the villages for getting the produce to the city,” he said.
Onglo and the FPDA have been providing technical support and training to farmers in Gembogl in the past 18 months.
The first two shipments of bulb onions had already been delievered.
“We are currently designing the facility which will have chillers, refrigerators, dry storage area where produces can be handled in packing, checking quality before being distributed to customers,” he said.
“The storage facility will not only store fresh produce for the farmers in the district but the others as well.”
