MT HAGEN Open MP and Minister for Petroleum and Energy William Duma has committed K50, 000 to boost soccer in his electorate.
The Mt Hagen Soccer Association will use the money to run its competition over the next 12 months.
Duma pledged to continue the support because it was one of the most popular sports in the country.
Association president Jonah Posa thanked Duma for backing the code which had needed a boost. Posa said the association would strive to promote soccer in Western Highlands and attract as many youths to the sport which he could be played anyone from children to adults.
“I believe that soccer is one of the sports that can help to promote and change the lives of many,” Posa said.
“This soccer association will do all its best to help as many people and the teams enjoy the sport,” Posa said.
