NAWAEB MP Gisuat Siniwin has appealed to the people of Karangan village to proceed with the construction of an aid post before funding for its completion can be released.
Siniwin visited the village in the Nabak LLG in his Nawaeb electorate, Morobe last Thursday and officiated at the groundbreaking ceremony for the aid post building.
Siniwin challenged the villagers to engage local builders to start work on the aid post in order for his office to release K30,000 to complete the building.
“I am making a commitment of K30,000 and want to see work commence this month,” he said.
“The commitment I am making now should be handed to you by the end of next month when you invite me to launch this building.
“Put all your differences away and work together in bringing development to your area.”
It is understood that the MP had presented K10,000 to Karangan ward councillor Noli Iquicke late last year to commence the work.
Siniwin said the funding was to engage locals involved in arranging building materials.
He said the K30,000 would help the aid post board to arrange for medical supplies.
Iquicke thanked Siniwin.
