KUNDIAWA-Gembogl MP Tobias Kulang wants Universal Education to continue to Grade 12 instead of Grade 8.

He made the statement at the Grade 10 graduation at Mt Wilhelm High school.

“Currently Grade 8, Grade 10 and Grade 12 students are disorientated and displaced in the community without any meaningful and formal support structure to fit into the community,” Kulang said.

The graduation marks the first intake for Grade 11 for Mt Wilhelm.

He said the district funded K1 million to raise its status from high school to secondary school.

Kulang said the district would open another secondary school in Waiye and the Kundiawa Urban local level government area.

He thanked the Simbu provincial education officials and those involved raising the status of Mt Wilhelm to secondary status next year.

Mt Wilhelm is the first secondary school in the Kundiawa-Gembogl district.
