THE scheduled swearing-in ceremony of all 10 Morobe parliamentarians, including Governor Kelly Naru, in Lae has been deferred to Sept 13.The ceremony, including the handover by former governor, Luther Wenge to Naru was to have taken place yesterday.Deputy governor of Morobe and Waria local level government president Morokoi Gaiwata said several factors including the incomplete maintenance of the governor’s office and residence played a part in the postponement of the swearing-in ceremony.
Since it was a major event, he said he met provincial administration heads who agreed to the postponement.
“The Defence Force has also been asked to participate and we are inviting all interested stakeholders to come and be part of this celebration,” he said.
“A special Tutumang sitting will also be held before the occasion so I ask all council presidents to be there,” Gaiwata said.
He said Wenge would be at the welcoming ceremony.
