THE Wanigela village in Port Moresby will soon have its roads upgraded.

Moresby South MP Justin Tkatchenko will jointly fund the K15,000 project with National Capital District Governor Powes Parkop.

Tkatchenko said the Wanigela people had been ignored in terms of development for more than 30 years and the road upgrading should help them raise their living standard.

He urged the people to do their part in cleaning up their own community.

Parkop said: “Thanks to the  Government as well for raising our provincial budgets so we can carry out such projects.”

Tkatchenko also gave K20,000 to a church-run clinic in Gereka run in part by the national Nazarene Health Ministries.

Ulamagi church pastor Ako Arua said the funds would help the clinic  serve the community around the Bootless Bay area.
