Deputy Prime Minister Leo Dion has called on MPs to use their funds to address disasters in their electorates while awaiting funding.
Dion said that due to funding shortage, the  Government had not allocated the required disaster funds to provinces and districts.
“But the thing is that this Government is sufficiently addressing these needs during disasters,” Dion said. Northern Governor Gary Juffa had asked Dion of the whereabouts of K3 millon from the National Disaster Office allocated for the Northern provincial disaster office.
Dion said that the coordination of disasters funds has been taken over by the Prime Minister’s Department and the national executive council and the management of the funds is guided by a well-documented.
