MOROBE MPs Mao Zeming and Theo Zurenuoc have teamed up to co-fund major projects in their electorates.

Zeming, the Tewai-Siassi MP and Minister for Fisheries and Marine Resources, said in a statement funds from the joint district planning and budget priorities committee had been allocated to buy earth-moving equipment to repair the roads between Sialum and Finschhafen, and complete the Siassi Island ring road.

Zeming said this was made possible following an arrangement with Finschhafen MP and Speaker of Parliament Zurenuoc.

“We have co-funding arrangement with the Finschhafen joint district planning and budget priority committee to start work as soon as the funds are released,” Zeming said.

The second project feasibility study will be carried out for three jetties to be built on Siassi Island, Sio and Sialum.

He said because people in his electorate depended heavily on the sea, 10 banana boats with outboard motors were given to them to assist their travels to and from Lae.

He said his office was working on a five-year development plan for the electorate in collaboration with the officers from the department of national planning and monitoring.
