MINING Minister John Tuke says the appointment of a managing director and the board of the Mineral Resource Authority will be done when the recently revised mining laws passed by Parliament is gazetted.
Tuke said they were waiting for the gazetting of the amended mining laws.
Usino-Bundi MP Jimmy Uguro had raised his concerns about the delay in the appointments and the conduct of an expatriate employee at the authority.
Tuke said he was not aware of the allegations against the expatriate and would investigate.
He said there were laws and regulations governing the industry and its practices, and if one was in breach of those, it would be investigated. Tuke said he had referred the matter to the responsible agencies to look into it.
He will report back to Parliament when he receives the explanation.
