MORESBY South Rugby League will kick off its season at Moresby South Stadium on May 27, according to an official.
Acting chairman Nathan Andes urged all 16 clubs to settle their K1,500 affiliation fee before May 20.
This deadline was confirmed during a special general meeting at the stadium on Sunday.
“All club presidents passed a resolution that all affiliation fees must be settled or face suspension from the 2022 season,” Andes said.
“All clubs must comply.
“The registration fee for players and technical officials remains at K50 as per Papua New Guinea Rugby Football League advice.”
Andes said coaches and team managers would be accredited with the national governing body’s development officers to conduct refresher clinics soon.
He said all coaches should be registered by May 20.
“It has also been highlighted that all clubs must have A-grade, Under-20 and women’s teams this season,” Andes said.
“This is not new.
“Clubs must field women’s teams or face the consequences.
“We are complying with the requirements of the national governing body, so clubs should adhere to this.
“We warned Kaugere Bulldogs, Taurama Wolf Pack, Koki Eels, Talai Spartans and new inclusion Vabukori Mosquitoes to make an effort to field women’s teams this season.”
He praised Gabutu Dragons, Two-Mile Pearl, Sab City Raiders, Joyce Bay Roosters, Korobosea Souths, Kaugere Seagulls, Six-Mile Crows, Vadavada United, Kone Eagles, Kipo Eastern Pride and Southern Sons for their support.
