Mt Hagen GH must live up to 5-star rating

Letters, Normal

I WAS once a patient of Mt Hagen General Hospital and I am now a regular visitor to the hospital.
From experience and what I can see now, the hospital does not deserve the five-star rating.
Most work is done by the hardworking nurses who carried on silently to provide a 24-hour service to the sick.
They go all out to ensure all patients are looked after and cared for.
The director of medical services needs to ensure that the doctors and staff working under him work professionally.
I have lost count of the number of time specialist doctors are not in the hospital and at the place of the private practice.
During emergencies, nurses contact the doctors and then wait for a long time before the doctors show up.
How can the director allow this to happen?
The director is also seen driving one of the hospital cars after hours.
Is he entitled to keep the hospital car?
The director of corporate services needs to ensure the staff work according to their job descriptions.
The hospital food also needs to be improved and proper menus made.
I see so many kaukau bags and cabbage bags sitting outside the kitchen for days and sometimes, they rot.
This is waste of money.
The kitchen staff must improve their personal hygiene.
Some of them come to work without washing and wear dirty clothes.
As a Western Highlander, I am concerned there.
Everyone must buckle up and live up to the five-star rating.
