Mt Hagen show given K20,000

THE Mt Hagen Show received a K20,000 boost from Bank South Pacific (BSP) Group Ltd Hagen branch on Tuesday.
BSP Mt Hagen branch manager Theresa Pilamp presented the cheque for K20,000 to show manager John Bonny, treasurer Phil Kelly and executive committee member Lawrence Pena.
Pilamp said the bank recognised and supported the show which was one of the largest events in the province’s calendar and which promoted Western Highlands as well as its businesses and culture.
“As part of our core values, we believe providing for our communities will create opportunities to deliver cost effective financial services to the people,” she said.
Pilamp said the bank knew that supporting such events like this enhanced a nation’s economic growth and ensured community empowerment.
The 61st edition of Mt Hagen Show will be staged at the Rebiamul rugby league oval from Sept 4-5.
Show manager Bonny said last year’s show had been cancelled because of the coronavirus (Covid-19).
