Mt Hagen Tech breaks the rules

Letters

WHILE other colleges and Tvet institutions around the country are conducting their normal end-of-the-academic-year graduation, the Mt Hagen Technical College administration and governing council have decided to cancel this landmark event.
The parents and guardians who had planned ahead and arrived at the college premises were dismayed by the eleventh-hour decision.
To add salt to wound, the college Academic Advisory Committee (AAC) were still processing the students’ transcript and certificates late into the week.
This has been very frustrating especially for students leaving the province as they had to rebook their flights.
This is an unprecedented move that is unheard of since the colleges’ inception and is totally unacceptable in any tertiary institution.
