THE Mul-Baiyer District Development Authority is focused on empowering the people economically to improve their lives.
MP and authority chairman Koi Trappe said he had started building roads and providing agricultural opportunities.
He said roads were important to open business opportunities and make travelling to the market easier.
Trappe presented the DDA 2017 DSIP acquittal to the Department of Implementation and Rural Development acting Secretary Aihi Vaki last week.
“Since coming into politics in 2012, I have focused development in the infrastructure and agricultural sectors. The people are now starting to benefit from them,” he said.
The district authority funded the Baiyer-Kompiam highway connecting Enga and Western Highlands.
He also funded a partnership with Trukai Industries to have a multimillion kina rice project.
The district is also addressing law and order issues.
Vaki thanked Trappe and the district administration for implementing projects in the electorate.
“Your electorate is one of the electorates actually delivering services to the people,” he said.
