A MOTHER in East New Britain is urging women in the country to take legal action against spouses caught committing adultery.
Darusila Samson, of the Duke of York Islands in Kokopo, and married to a doctor, said spouses caught committing adultery should be dealt with legally so the young generation could learn that adultery was wrong.
She said over the years, she had seen mothers refusing to take legal
action against their philandering spouses.
She said many women and children had suffered from such attitude.
Samson said taking legal action to address such cases would help in reducing the number of adultery cases in the country.
She said being a victim had put her in a position to see that when other female victims ignore such actions, they only encouraged other men and women to do the same.
“I am a mother of five children and a grandmother and I felt the need to take my husband to court for committing adultery to set an example for
other female victims to follow,” she said.
Samson said many mothers prayed during such cases but it was better to go to court.
She said many marriages had fallen apart because “lust, pride and money” had blinded many people.
She appealed to married men and women to take responsibility and ownership of their families and restrain from committing adultery.
Samson said adultery was destructive to family units in ways that were unbearable for victims, especially children.
“Take ownership of your families with responsibilities and you will receive the heavenly blessings God has for your families.
“Fear the Lord and do what is right and just.”
