Murder case deferred

THE case of a medical doctor charged with killing his wife was deferred to Sept 2, police say.
Dr Simon Temo, 40, Paul Ken 27, and Nombe Kasu 42, all from Karinz local level government’s Mopa village in Mendi-Munihu, Southern Highlands, have been charged with allegedly killing Imelda Tubi Tiamanda, a University of Goroka undergraduate student on May 8.
Mt Hagen District Court magistrate Leonard Mesmin remanded the trio in Baisu prison in Western Highlands after their first appearance on May 14.
The matter was adjourned last Friday in the Baisu jail court in Mt Hagen after defence counsel did not attend the hearing.
Police Prosecutor Sgt Paul Urangian said the case was scheduled for hearing on Sept 2.
