THE murder of a woman in Goilala district, Central, has sparked off three more killings in the family, according to police.

Police only came to know about the killings when a man from the village came to the police station to report the matter.

Central provincial police commander Laimo Asi said the killings happened in two small villages in the Kunimaipa local level government in the Goilala district.

“The matter only reached Central police after an informant came to register the complaint,” Asi said.

Asi said he would send 10 police officers to the villages this week if funds were available. The area is only accessible by air.

He said the woman had an argument with her husband over some misunderstanding which resulted in her death.

Asi said her aunt retaliated by killing a man related to the husband.

The man’s son took revenge by killing another villager.

“I am organising for a CID team to be flown to Kunimaipa which only can be reached by air,” said Asi.

Meanwhile, a new police station commander for Kwikila station will be appointed on Wednesday.

Asi said due to lack of command control in the station, a new PSC would be named.
