East Sepik Police Commander Supt Albert Beli says people from the Murik Lakes, Angoram who have been displaced during a recent fight will be relocated.
The fight between Murik settlers and Mengar villagers had forced hundreds of people homeless, properties torched and seven dead over a short period.
Governor Allan Bird said the provincial administration had begun the process to move them to Angoram.
He said: “We decided to move all our Murik people out of the camp to Angoram as soon as we can. That process has already begun.
“Since all our accounts have been frozen by the Ombudsman Commission, I have personally spoken to the business community to advance us fuel, food and other essentials.
“All the work is handled by the provincial administrator and the Provincial Police Commander due to the election process being underway. Every attempt will be made within reason to assist where we can.”
Beli yesterday said normalcy returned on Friday.
