THE KOKOPO Muruks are still waiting for their winning prize money of K2,500 since winning the Ipatas Cup Islands Region challenge last year.

A frustrated Kokopo Muruks Rugby League Club president Stephen Liu said the club had been waiting for the past 12 months for its prize money.

“If I can get the attention of the competition sponsor Coca-Cola Amatil and the Enga Governor Peter Ipatas that we are still waiting and it is getting frustrating,” Liu said.

He said the tournament’s chief executive officer Timothy Lepa had promised that the money would be deposited into the club’s account last year. To date, no money had been depositied to the club’s bank account since the promise was made.

“I have contacted Lepa on numerous occassions regarding our prize money. His only reply is, ‘Yes okay, I’ll deposit soon’.”
