Muruks get K200,000 funding boost

THE Southern Highlands government presented K200,000 to the Petroleum Resources Kutubu Mendi Muruk in Port Moresby yesterday.
Southern Highlands Governor William Powi made the presentation on behalf of his government to complete the total of K400,000 alongside PRK as partners.
“On behalf of my government, I’m confident that the Muruks are moving forward in helping develop rugby league,” he said.
Powi said with a new board in place headed by Pastor Isaac Joseph and director Mark Sakai, the franchise was progressing well. “I ask for full cooperation from the franchise board and directors to work together,” he said.
“I am confident that the pride of our people — Mendi Muruks — will be supported by my government as we look to work with the team in developing rugby league in the province.”
