MUSA put on an outstanding performance in thrashing Murat 6-2 in the men’s A-League soccer clash in the NCD Football Association competition on Sunday.

Leading 1-0 at half time,  the boys from Oro Kaiva country led by strikers Laga Geno and Charlie Keith shifted into top gear scoring five more goals to seal the match while Musa managed to reply with only two goals to make the score line look respectable.

Credit must go to Musa defenders in Paul Rifu, Kes Wally and Malachi Dobu, who worked overtime to deny Murat’s hardworking strikers Douglas Papaol and Matthew Boala from finding the back of the net.

In the other match played on Sunday at PNGIPA Oval, the lowly-rated Tarangau put on an exciting game to draw with the high-flying YFC Lions, 1-1.

On Saturday, FC Wantok recorded the highest win for this year in the NCDFA competition with a 9-0 thrashing of a depleted Buria side to maintain their top position on the competition ladder.

Despite the departure of Koriak Upaiga for Labasa in Fiji, FC Wantoks had enough players to fill in to register a big win.

City United drew wityh Simla 1-1 while PNGIPA hammered Morata Roots 5-1.

NCDFA match chairman Paul Isorua said the A-League is coming to a close and the teams are causing upset over the weekend.

The classical example is the lowly rated Tarangau managed to squeeze YFC Lions to limit and they drew 1-1.

The ladder: FC Wantoks 29, YFC Lions 22, PNGIPA 20, City United 19, Simla 19, Tarangau 14, Murat 9, Buria 5 and Morata Roots 2.
