THE National Museum and Art Gallery ended its weeklong training organised by the Department of Finance to install and roll out the Integrated Financial Management System (IFMS) for the museum.

Deputy director of corporate services division of the national museum, Jeane Sliviak Kidu, said the IFMS was an initiative of the Government implemented by the Financial Management Improvement Programme (FMIP) Division to replace the outdated provincial government accounting system (PGAS).

“It is an IT system used for planning, budgeting, accounting, as well as financial reporting to improve controls and support accountabilities in order to comply with the requirements of the Public Finance (Management) Act,” Kidu said.
