MVIL gives half million kina to refs

THE Motor Vehicles Insurance Limited (MVIL) has sponsored the Digicel Cup match officials this season to the tune of K500,000.
MVIL chairman Dr Ken Ngangan committed the money yesterday at a press conference with organisers PNG National Rugby League Competition in Port Moresby.
“We’re happy to support the biggest and most popular domestic competition in the country with K500,000 and that will be renewed yearly,” Ngangan said.
“We are pleased as a third party insurance company coming onboard as a rugby league sponsor.
“We’re doing this to promote our road safety messages to the people as well.”
“Our theme for the sponsorship is ‘Play by the rules, Drive by the rules’.
We want people to understand that following rules is important and there for everyone’s safety — on the field or on the road.”
