SUPPORTERS of West Sepik Governor Belden Namah want to maintain peace and order as voting for the Sandaun regional seat by-election begins tomorrow.
Namah’s executive officer Patrick Muliale was responding to the destruction on Wednesday by a group of people of a stand erected in Aitape for a campaign rally by Namah for the PNG Party candidate Gregory Kapanombo.
“PNG Party supporters will not retaliate and intimidate other candidates’ supporters in Vanimo during the polling period when it starts on Saturday,” he said.
“So far it has been a peaceful campaign period in the past two months. We are a peaceful people who live by the rule of law.”
