Namah slams Govt MPs for not showing up

OPPOSITION Leader Belden Namah has accused Government MPs of failing to respect Parliament when they did not show up for the opening session yesterday.
Speaker Job Pomat was forced to adjourn the House to 10am today because there was no quorum.
Opposition MPs were also missing, believed to be in a caucus meeting.
Namah in a statement yesterday said the Government MPs showed their “disrespect for the people’s house”.
He said he was not surprised by the lack of quorum.
“Prime Minister James Marape is the champion of parliament adjournments.
“I would not expect him to provide the numbers for a proper parliament sitting,” Namah said.
“I had my Opposition MPs in caucus ready to raise issues of national importance only to be told that there was lack of quorum and Parliament was adjourned.”
