Namah slams Polye, Basil
The National, Monday February 16th, 2015
BELDEN Namah says the removal of his position as Opposition leader without his knowledge is like stealing his wife.
“I say this because the manner they (Don Polye and Sam Basil) had conducted a meeting last November to replace me was unacceptable,” he said.
“They had a meeting and replaced me when I was sick in bed. I later knew about my replacement in the media.
“There was no urgency to have that meeting. I don’t go around stealing leadership from other people or steal woman from someone else’s bedroom.”
The Vanimo Green MP said he would remain an Opposition MP but not under the leadership of Polye and Basil.
“I ‘am an Opposition MP within the Opposition. I will remain in the Opposition as the PNG Party Leader and Vanimo-Green MP and serve my people in Vanimo-Green and my party’s supporters,” he said.
“But that does not mean that I will join the Government. There are rumours that I will join the Government.”
“I want to make it clear to my supporters that I remain in the Opposition as myself.
“I am sure Polye and Basil do not need me and I don’t need them either.”
