DEPUTY Prime Minister Belden Namah has been urged to refocus his attention on delivering basic service to his Vanimo Green electorate.
Villager Emil Luwi said Namah was losing his attention on serving the people of West Sepik province.
He said although the province delighted in his elevation to the country’s second highest post in government the people were still struggling to make ends meet as most of them relied on subsistence or cash crop farming.
Lowi, from Mukili village, said it was not fair for the leaders to play politics while the people who mandated them to be leaders “are neglected and deprived of the assistance they should be receiving from the government”.
Lowi said there had been no tangible development since independence in the province and they were banking on Namah to bring essential services to them.
Lowi said it was time for all West Sepik Members of Parliament to work together and help the least developed areas and not to play politics at the expense of voters.
He called on Namah to treat his East Sepik brothers with respect in light of the political situation as the West Sepik population in the Nuku and Aitape Lumi districts accessed vital services from Wewak and not Vanimo.
