Namah urges PM to resign

OPPOSITION Leader Belden Namah has urged Prime Minister James Marape to realise that he has lost the majority support in Parliament, and to resign with dignity.
“The people of Papua New Guinea expect our MPs to do their jobs and to serve and act with dignity,” Namah said.
“Right now, that dignity lies in the hands of one man who must (prove to everyone) that he still has the support of the majority of MPs.”
Namah maintains that the Opposition has 55 MPs in the now 110-seat Parliament.
The Bougainville regional seat is still vacant after Joe Lera resigned to contest the elections in July.
He accused Marape of making too many errors as highlighted in the Supreme Court ruling on Wedmesday.
“He handed down a budget that has now been declared unconstitutional, invalid and ineffective.
“All his decisions of Nov 17 (Parliament sitting) are illegal,” he said.
“He cannot call on the people to respect the Supreme Court decision but will not do so himself.
“He must accept the decision of the Supreme Court by admitting his guilt and resigning as Prime Minister.
“He always likes to say that the position of Prime Minister does not belong to James Marape.”
Marape said he was not going to resign and that the position of PM was not vacant.
Namah said Marape could save everyone’s time in going through a motion of no confidence by resigning.
“When Parliament resumes on Monday, his resignation can be accepted and Parliament can elect a new prime minister,” Namah said.
“Our country does not want to go through the drawn-out process of a motion of no confidence because our people expect honour from leaders, not bitterness and denial.”
Namah dismissed a call by Marape to reveal who has the Opposition named as the alternative PM in case of a motion of no confidence.
“It is not relevant right now who we will nominate for the position,” Namah said.
“What matters right now is that Parliament has already demonstrated through numbers on the floor that Marape no longer has the support of the majority.”

  • BN, you can’t be the prime minister and your are wasting time and my tax money. The empty drum making lots of noise and people are sick of seeing your corrupt face. I hope your electorate is up to date
If you can’t manage your electorate than PNG is much much bigger

    • Well said Isreal.

BN, PO and your lot, I just wonder if you have any intergrity left in yourselves?

You just can’t expect honour and respect from the people when your integrity is tainted by corruption.
Must earn people’s trust and respect by your honourable and dignified conduct and examplary leadership qualities.

Let parliament decide on Monday. You can cast your lots but God determines the final outcome.

  • With few days to go before Monday and with no signs of the opposition nominating an alternative PM. We can all tell that the team leaders in the Opposition are all power hungry people. This is dangerous as they might lose all their sheep back to Marape on the floor of parliament on Monday. Only time will tell comes Monday.

  • BN and your conterparts, are you going to change the face of our country. The country is already in deficit before JM took office as the CEO of the country.
Please think about us the people and make some changes instead of fighting against yourselves. Are you concerned about us, the people of Papua New Guinea or not? The very people that mandated you 111 MP’s.
Plis wari liklik long mipela. Mipela tarangu nau ya!

  • Quite ridiculous to see BN’s ongoing squabbling opting for PMJM to resign in the mist of wrestling in quest for power. By now, the people are interested to see who the alternate PM is from the opposition side given more than one potential candidates. The opposition conglomerate is made up of MPs that in one point in time being all political rivals accusing each other in the Parliamentary blame game and this avalanche a lot of questions in ones mind if a favorable candidate can be chosen to magnet the trust of all otherwise.

  • BN and the opposition members its good you shake the Government side so that they can see and fix up some of the areas and move the country forward and not backward and its not to remove or change the PM. Because how can you think that by changing the PM will solve the current situation the country is in . these no point in changing the PM cause changing PM will no change anything even people like BN or PO or even PP non of them can do anything within this shot period of time

  • A barking dog never bite anyone but just bark bark to scare people and be aware…Belden Namah should learned from your past that Peter O”neil has team up with you and used you to topple the government from your wantok sepik man Michael Somare and he betrayed you for good to take Prime Minister seat, now you twos are team up together again just because Peter O”neil has lost the Prime Minister seat to James Marape,Peter O”neil is using his physcology to take the Prime Minister seat back from James Marape so now he is with you…you are very powerfull oppositon leader in PNG history after Sir Iambakey Okuk but you don’t have the wisdom like Okuk to become the good Prime Minister of PNG one day, only people will use you to gain power…

  • It seems the opposition is hellbent in trying to overthrow PMJM and form government. I however wonder how they will turn the country around in just less than 18 months. Remember it took so many years to get the country into all these mess, and it was caused by many of those big names currently in the opposition. At least PMJM is trying his best to rescue the country from this mess by first setting up the appropriate policies and legal frameworks to safeguard this policies, as the foundation. He is more committed to PNGeans by providing opportunities for them to participate fully in the resource and small business sectors. I ask the young and smart MPs in the opposition to go join PMJM for the remainder of the term, and see what good you can do for us your already suffering people.

For your thoughts, imagine how many of those MPs in the opposition have at one or many times being referred to the Leaderships Tribunal, Ombudsman Commission or the courts for some wrong doings and have escaped because of some loopholes in the judiciary system. On the other hand how many of those in the government have being referred to the same. Remember with ICAC bill being passed recently, i for one am really suspicious about why the opposition is pushing strongly to change the PM and Government.

  • Lion Heart Belden Namah has been the most powerful and intelligent opposition leader ever the people of Vanimo Green have produced for the nation. I couldn’t think of a better Opposition Leader than him. He becomes so popular because of his no non-sense argument for what is right for PNG as a nation. Down the memory lane, the people of PNG was right behind him, Juffa, Marrat, Kua, Krammer, Bird who stood shoulder to shoulder to fight against the corrupt PNC’s led government. They won. Unfortunately, it is not the same this time, Mr. Namah. You seem to lose you memory so quickly to align with the very person you fought tooth and nail when he reigned. You are now fighting against a government that fights corruption. WHY? Does that mean that you are promoting corruption? Then, you shouldn’t be the opposition leader.

The current government run by Hon. James Marape is a government that have the support of the people. PMJM is a people’s leader. He and his government puts people’s interest before his own. Neither does he tolerate corporate interest in PNG’s affairs. Mr. Namah, you don’t seem to understand your role as an opposition leader. You better quit talking and barking too much. The current PMJM’s led government has done most of the work that you would do if your corrupt master was in power. Now, you are swaying to protest against the corruption fighter in PMJM. How Hilarious?

  • Namah you Just produce your number on the floor of Parliament!!! As stated by Marape on December 14 2020… Instruction is simple!!! Why are you crying for Marape to resign:

  • Namah is just dreaming about the pm post. He can not do what PMJM is doing. Never a future pm will do what PMJM is trying to do. May God bless and stand at the back of PMJM during this power struggle period.

  • Full support for the opersition.
Like him or not BN does make a good argument.
PNG economy has reached an all time low with this current Government.
Can’t wait for Monday so we can have a fresh Government and a new PM leader that will put PNG back on the map.
Can’t believe people are still supporting this Government when their family’s are suffering, no work ,no jobs and no future.

    • Gary, what we are going through is only a short pain and we need that to transform our thinking so we are not overly influenced by foreigners for their good. We all have our share of wealth in each country and this is PNG. If it means to step back a bit from the global community and look back, re-adjust and realign with our selves and the world is what we as a country must do. We must have full control of our resources. Not other people taking control. Enough is enough. We have to do it for our future children and not us now…..

  • Only ratbags with zero brain capacity keep repeating the same thing over and over like a child. Do we want someone with the mental capacity of a child to become PM?

  • Corruption was already there when JM took PM seat and why making non-sense argument. 2022 is just around the corner and why can’t we just support the current PM to finish off the remaining term. It’s a shame to see the “Big Boys” playing such baby sense game instead of addressing appropriate issues in the parliament.

  • PMJM is the PM for PNG and PM for the day until….and he will remain PM comes the final hour.
Who does BN think he is. He is psychological infected (not affected). The LUST for power has infected BN. He is not a suitable and sensible leader any more.
PMJM still has the right as PM up to the final second. He is still credible and leads with integrity. No doubt.
    BN….malolo

  • BN yes you have MPS to get MP sit but we the PNGans are all for PMJM in no matter what WE still want him to be our PM. NOT YOU.

  • Key board warriors-Try and go back to your rural communities and get views of the folk -They dont know who is James Marape -Nothing to show-only sweet talks-They want the father of infrastructure back to the post.. Who is he ?

  • Mark my word,PMJM will won with majority votes..As Iam speaking 6 MPs heading into Lolowata Camp now.Witness yourself what transpires on the Playing Field on Monday at 10:00am.

    • J.P thanks for the updates, as PMJM says, won’t buy or sell your soles.
That’s a true Leadership saying, thanks those who crossed over because you Leaders are leaders and not followers.
May Almighty Christ Jesus filled you all with his wisdom!!

  • Nama, stop talking like an empty drum making a lot of noise. You are not a PM material and will never smell that seat in your political career. Your shallow taught has no standing at all with evidence or grounds to support. A plane politician.

  • I’m so sorry for BN. He has been used many times by greedy and hungry for power people like PO for his own greed and gain. He dumped you earlier and if opposition win your marriage with PO will be short lived and you are highly likely to be dumped again. Whether it be one day, one month or one year PM, BN you must take the PM nominee or you never have this chance. Whatever discussions behind the scenes BN you must be the PM. Honestly, mi sorry for you because mipla people ilukim you work hard and you no kamap PM now. Atin you lus tintin long 2021 election sapos yu no PM now. You only fight for other peoples gain and this not good. SAPOS you are not nominated as alternate PM, you no fit long kamap PM. Bai you work kago boy for nothing. OLSEM NA MI OLSEM, MP BLONG GRASSROOT MANMERI NA KISIM MAUS BLONG FAMILY BLONG ME, ME NOMINATIM YU OLSEM ALTERNATE PM BLONG PNG. Please, make it known to your opposition MPs

  • BN rait mangi blo setim prime minister seat blo narapla man. Good on you. You did it twice for PO, once for JM and now for who?? Taim ol kisim PM ol ba lusim yu one lo opposition as usual. And you’ll start again from zero.

  • I think Belden is more intelligent than James Marape and a lot of the people criticizing him
He has now practically pushed James Marape into the corner and come Monday he will finish him off.

  • Kipa said it well and I agree. BN has been used many a times and he doesn’t realize it. It’s a shame that an outspoken leader can’t analyze and see what transpiring infront of him. He is just too blind and PO may cleverly dump BN if whatever happens after Monday’s Parliament sitting. PO has done it to BN and if it happens, it has been forthcoming. BN my honest view is that the current marriage with PO is based on assumptions and fake relationships.

  • Peter O’neil tok pinis olsem bai you no nap kamap PM and yet you are with him racing for PM seat – krangi nau ya

  • I think Mr. Namah is the best opposition leader because of his aggressive mentality…he don’t have the capacity to lead this nation…Vanimo green has seen no tensible change since he entered parliament…..

  • BN you forever bai stap Opposition even now you work hard lo niupla PM, you bai setim at the end of the day, yu bai kamap opposition blo em gen, anyway opposition seat lo parliament house ya em blo you forever. Em gutpla inogat wrong lo em. Thank you.

  • BN is an intelligent person. As an Ex Army intelligent Officer he knows his ways around. That’s why he’s still around.

  • We people understand that you (BN) is the whole reason why this beautiful country is facing these countless challenges. The ordinary people of this country are suffering because of you.
PNG was okay during Somare’s turn until you (Namah) can in as opposition leader. You have been an opposition leader throughout your political career. You have been doing this over and over and so we are fed up with you. I personally don’t have trust in you that you will one day become Prime Minister of this country.

All I know is you do it for others to be the Prime Minister, not yourself. If you still in this one, please stop doing politics in 2022. We’ve had enough of you. We now understand that you are more hungry to become Prime Minister. Please don’t come back in 2022.

  • Em tasol, naw it clearly shows that empty drums makes alot of noises and thats exactly resemble BN’s character

  • It is more appropriate for the leaders to exercise their rights to choose which side to be on. Just incase some members are not forced or held captives in either camps.

  • You can say any thing to BN, but from my view point he is not a power hungry politicians. If he is a power hungry man, you all know, he should be a PM long time ago. That’s man…

  • PM JM you on the good note, MPs talking about jobless what have you done for your own province this jobless
stories been there for decades due to foreign corrupt deals from PO and down the line. BN you should be
neutral this is not your private company that you can devote the PM.
Talking about commodity MPs are we going to wait for the PM to set foot on your door step when you
just enjoying yourself in POM in night clubs 2022 is just around the corner.

Salute you PM JM only God will guide you through Dr Allan Marat your right hand.

  • If you look closely, you will see the results of PMJM’s vision for PNG. Short term visible gains are just for those that don’t have the eyes that can see the future of PNG. PMJM, people have no alternatives to offer so they only have time to criticize but PNG is right behind you. Stand firm as a true PNG leader, God will choose.

  • P0 is an adult thief, a corrupt individual who fed on ordinary citizens hard work that made him rich overnight. He is a pathological liar, dishonest, not honorable, not upright, not a person of integrity and can never be trusted to hold public office. This is the same PO that made Investment Corporation, NPF and PNGBC shutdown in the early 1990s and 2000s. His name is written again and again in those reports playing a lead role in the downfall of these institutions. This is the same PO that stole public money through inflated contracts during the SP Games and APEC infrastructure developments, UBS loan that did not benefit us, illegal purchase of Israeli generators etc. The name Peter O’Neil is mentioned over and over again in the investigation reports. Belden Nama, this is the main reason you stood tall as our hero that removed PO as PM. We now know who really is Belden Nama. I have lost all the respect and trust I had for you. You no different to Peter O’Neil. Whatever evil you are planning to hurt us, your reward from Heaven awaits you.

  • Well said Okae, with you.
There is always a reason why some MPs moving.
My opinion is because of the NGE,2022 coming up.
Haven’t heard of the 10 million ballot papers printed in Indonesia.
I guess we used only 6 million and where are the rest. Is there are stock counts on how many we using?
If this current government happen to continued I would suggest we stamped every ballot papers before it is distributed to polling boot just like Simbu province did in last NGE,2017.
Only suggestion as a tax payer for fair and free election without being rigged.

  • When the righteous are in power, the people rejoice. When the wicked rule, there is suffering in the land. PMJM, keep up thee good work. This are merely obstacles you need to overcome to carry you forward.

  • Do not use Almighty’s name.
There is none righteous in parliament.
All the politicians are corrupt. Marape is not a saint. He was with PO and PO has been blamed for with corruption.
Marape is a wolf in sheep’s skin. He is corrupt.
He will be kicked out tomorrow and you people him as a saint will re-examine your faith again by tomorrow afternoon.

  • In other Countries, the PM in their right mind will take the call and do the right thing but this is PNG except the unexpected. We are power hungry no one will resign to allow the rule of law.
Anyways BN you are just doing you job. Keep up the good work. Best Opession Leader in history.

  • FYI commentators! Four MPs are already crossing the floor from opposition to the government right now…

  • Mr. Namah and Members of the Opposition MUST NOT FORCE PM to RESIGN, but they must challenge the PM in a Vote of No Confidence.
You must follow the available legal option to vote in the next PM, which is by VoNC.

  • Good afternoon everyone, am coming again reminding everyone of my visions. In my third vision I saw BN was trying to put neck tie around his neck but neck tie became too short and I informed everyone that BN will not take PM seat.
Now looks like this vision comes to end as the opposition members have already appointed PP as alternate PM.
In my other vision I saw PMJM was walking with one sided leg and he kept on walking.Believe that there will be something happening after this.Part of this vision was completed because he has already made some decisions without opposition. This may also mean he will continue run this country with half of the members and complete the term if the numbers of both sides are equal/balanced.Things are happening slowly and expecting my visions to come through. In my third vision I saw an old put neck around PO. After all these gone, PO will come back to power.I know most people will disagree with me when I say PO will come back to power but remember, In Hebrew 13:8 it says God is same yesterday, today and forever and so he knows the past, present and future. Whether it will be a evil or good person will rule, Gods knows everything and let us know in advance. Thank you and God bless PNG.
