Nambawan group gives K5,000 to fire appeal

THE East New Britain (ENB) for Australian bush fire appeal committee got another timely donation from a family member of Nambawan Lodge in Kokopo.
Eremas Wartoto Jr presented an envelope containing a paid receipt of K 5,000 to the committee’s main operating account for the appeal.
Wartoto said on behalf of the family member to the Nambawan Group of Companies including its fleets of hire cars around the country, they had shown their support in donating to assist friends from Australia who had been victims of one of the worst fire disasters.
Secretary to the appeal committee Saradha Wong said the donation would go a long way in supporting families who have been severely affected by the bushfire in Australia.
Wong said a series of fundraising drives would commence this Saturday in various designated areas starting in Kerevat with a wheelbarrow push, a live musical concert, and in Warangoi in the Sinivit local level government (LLG), there will be a wheelbarrow push.
Wong also said Kokopo residents will host a wheelbarrow push led by the public servants of the Kokopo Urban LLG office, plus support from the business houses.
Meantime the committee urged the public and the business community in ENB willing to support or give in cash or in kind to contact the following committee members, vice committee chairman Donald Tokunai on 71112777, or secretary Saradha Wong on 70368129 .
