NAMBAWAN Super, PNG’s premier superannuation fund, has announced the appointment of Andrew Esler as general manager (member services).
Esler is Australian and has a bachelor of business (accounting).
He is an accomplished manager with extensive experience, having worked at all levels within both the private and the public sectors in PNG.
Before joining Nambawan Super, he held senior management positions at Monian, Deloitte and most recently with Theodist.
Nambawan Super acting managing director Paul Yangen said:  “Esler brings a high level of skill and knowledge to the position.
“He is extremely passionate about improving the level of service to our members and we are delighted to have him in our team.”
Yangen said Nambawan had recently invested heavily in technology to modernise, transform and lift service to its members and Esler’s experience in managing businesses undergoing organisational restructure and change management challenges would be a real asset.
“Our members will be pleased to experience a much improved level of service as these changes are rolled out and implemented during the year,” he said.
Esler will lead the member services function including Nambawan Savings & Loans Society, awareness and engagement with members, development of new products, and strengthening of relationships with key stakeholders such as members, employers and government.
He will also oversee operations of the 18 provincial offices of the fund.
Nambawan Super manages superannuation funds of K3.3 billion for over 125,000 members from both the private and public sectors.
