NAQIA men learning Indonesian language

 OFFICIALS from the National Agriculture Quarantine Inspection Authority are undergoing a three-month Indonesian language training to assist their work at the border,.

A statement from the Indonesian Embassy said the 16 officials were being trained to understand the Indonesia language. The training is a pilot project initiated by the Indonesian Embassy. It aims to enhance communication and understanding between the two countries especially at the border.

A deal was signed signed between NAQIA and the Indonesian Embassy for more officers to learn the language, including those from the Border Development Authority.

“Learning the Indonesian language would not only be a compliment for Papua New Guineans, but a necessity for the people in enhancing cooperation in economic development of Indonesia and PNG.”
